The top roof vents are screen inside with a zipper providing access to the flaps which can be brought down, however, the exterior flaps don't secure/lock down, so since I'm not sure where you're going or when, I'm not sure that strong breezes couldn't lift them up sufficient that sand wouldn't build up on the screens. Hope that helps somewhat. You might want to take one of the "closeup" views of different sections of the tent that Amazon's photos enable and check out those top vents.
Get a four season tent, or, Use a large tarp pitched over the tent and fly. I use a set of poles made of EMT. The idea is to break the wind.
Most of the sand will settle out in the calmer air behind the tarp. Fine dust will not be stopped. A tent would have to be air tight to stop fine dust and that would not allow you air to breathe.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
