Can someone who is overweight be healthy, or is it just our society that believes that people who are overweight are unhealthy?

My doctor certainly seems to think it's possible to be overweight and still healthy. My father has been overweight (not obese) for a number of years (at least 10) despite being decently active. He has a job that demands a lot of movement, lifting and moving heavy things, etc.Just going to work is like doing moderate exercise for 8 hours.

When my father goes in for his check-ups, his blood pressure is fine, his pulse rate is within the normal range for a person who is in good health and he has never had heart problems at all. This also just points to the fact that you can be active, exercise and eat healthy and still be overweight. Just because being overweight can be unhealthy doesn't mean that every person who is overweight is unhealthy.

Being overweight increases the risk of developing certain health related issues. Some of the diseases that occur as a result of being overweight include: Coronary heart disease: Coronary heart disease occurs when plaque accumulate inside the coronary arteries. The plaque is made up of calcium, fat cholesterol, including other unhealthy substances.

When plaques build up, it cause the coronary arteries to become blocked. This can cause angina to occur or in most cases a heart attack. Other health related issues that can occur as a result of overweight are high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and abnormal blood fats.So you can see that being overweight is not healthy.

There are ways that one can keep healthy without depriving themselves from good food. Exercise and eat healthy on a daily basis to keep your body healthy. nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/obe/ob....

As they get older, kids and teens who are overweight are more likely to develop diabetes and heart disease. Excess weight on growing bones can lead to this bone deformity of the lower legs. Wear and tear on the joints from carrying extra weight can cause this painful joint problem at a young age.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
