Can tourists still smoke cannabis in Amsterdam?

And another one.... I really do wonder why cannabis users cannot look at the questions already here... ah well... It's not legal, just tolerated and not prosecuted. There's a new law now restricting access to coffeeshops to residents only. It will go into effect on may 1st for the three southern provinces of the Netherlands with the rest of the country to follow by 1/1/2013.

Yes, anyone classed as an adult can, but only in designated cafes or in a private residence. It is illegal to smoke or eat (cake) cannabis on the streets or to "deal", ie by street selling or buying from such people. Registered & licensed cafes are the place to go to purchase and consume, or purchase to take home (assuming you had a private residence in Nederlands to consume it).

Bear in mind, just because you may purchase it legally you cannot bring it back to the UK or take it cross border to any other country. Oh - point to note - you have until end 2012 to achieve your aim, as from 2013 it won't be available to anyone not registered to a cafe in Amsterdam (for which you have to be a resident). Some areas of the country have already introduced this, but the capital is a year away.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
