Civil Servant job security During my work as a subcontractor at Johnson Space Center, I bumped into a lot of civil servants that had a lot of time on their hands. Once hired, it is very difficult to fire them. Some were excellent leaders and I really respected them.

But others were warm bodies using up air and not producing anything. They probably did good work in the past, but at some point lost motivation. Superiors noticed this and stopped giving them critical work to do, since they were not dependable.

They do not earn promotions after that point, but neither can they be fired. Their work dwindles until they are drawing a paycheck for showing up and leaving on time. I once inquired about this to a civil servant that I respected.

I was told that they can't be fired unless they come in one day and shoot their boss. Anything short of that is not a fireable offense. He was exaggerating of course, but not by much.

These people occupy space for 20 years, and then retire with a heck of a pension. These people need to be fired, and required to become productive members of society. They should be ashamed of themselves.

But who would turn down a paycheck just for showing up on time and not shooting their boss? I hope this helps.

Sure. The department of Argiculture. The department of Education.

The department of Energy. The department of State. The department of housing and urban development.

Most of the justice department. Etc..... There are hundreds of smaller government departments that have no constitutional right to exist. It would take many pages to list them.

Right now the budget for the department of education is over $120B. Yes that is billion with a B. What in the $#$%^ do they do with that money?

It sure isn't helping education. And this is just one department. If these departments were closed tommorrow the US would be a lot better off..

Pork Funds The spending budget for special projects was again increased for the Democrats. The funds are ear marked, but in many cases it doesn't reach the previous or current projects. The money isn't suppose to be designated for special interests groups, but some officials have crossed that line.It's amazing that the Democrats are able to get away with it when there is evidence that the funding never made the project.

So, where does it go? Sometimes, I wonder how comfy the elected officials have it, do they really understand our problem or is this pure rhetoric. They are killing middle Americans with its nonsensical programs.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
