Can you help me find a short story I've been searching for, for years?

Here's what I remember: 1. I saw in a collection of short stories.2.It was dark humor or black comedy3. It might have been titled Unusual Occupations or something similar4.

It would in narrative form, describe a job. There were several different jobs described I believe but I just read one of them.5. The one I read, involved a family who would take over a funeral when they felt the actual family in mourning was glad to see the person gone.

They would grieve harder, longer and more earnestly until the preacher was calling upon them to read the Eulogy and having them be the pallbearers (all of this, with a dark, dark sense of humor)6. The writers last name might start with a 'Z'If I remember anything else, I'll post it in the comments section. Thanks!

I'm looking for a short story I read twenty years ago in a sci fi anthology called "The Survivor. " Anybody read it?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
