As far as I know tethering was actually introduced with the OS 3.0 and the iPhone 3GS, and there is no reason why it shouldn't work exactly the same on the 3GS as on an iPhone 3G. I've never heard of anything that works on a 3G not working on a 3GS, but if you know different, I'd love to hear about it.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
