Can you suggest a good reference book of supernatural beings such as vampires, werewolves, shape shifters, etc.? I'm looking for a book that lists as many different ones as possible, with brief explanations, perhaps some background history of how and where these beings originated. Something to use as a reference book while writing fiction. Thanks!

A few suggestions. Personally, I’d go with an encyclopedia specializing on each of the main subjects. And one that kind of compiles them into one book.

I have a Time-Life series called "The Enchanted World" and I believe there is another set about the Occult, too. "The Vampire Book" I’m attaching is a valuable resource because it covers all facets of the Vampire, from it's origin in Literature and Film, and pop culture. I am trying to find the book about a girl who comes from a family of supernatural beings, and is afraid she has no power.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
