Can you summarize a perspective on life that aging -- say over the past ten years -- has given you?

The main perspective age has given me which I've just recently come to be ble to put into as few words as possible is:I have more understanding and compassion for people than ever, but also less hope for humankind. I'm not sure, but I think this is probably going to probably lead, soon enough, to a lack of vision where it comes to considering the world's, and even my community and family's most serious problems. Then again, maybe not.

Nomatter what, I always seem to find a hopeful attitude, with only minor lapses from time to time. And this is more true now than it's ever been before. Not a hope in anything in particular; just a hope that things will be ok, in some way, whatever happens.

I guess you could call it a "blind hope. "I still get depressed, anxious, or worried sometimes, but not even half as much as I did up to about two or three years ago. This does not seem to have any correlation with life circumstances, or medications, either.

Within the past ten years I have come to embrace the philosophy of a very wise woman. Many years ago my mother (I am one of 7 children) said that she was giving up worrying about us. She said that she had discovered that she was always worried about the wrong thing.

What ever she imagined was not what we were up to at all! So, she decided not to worry! As the mother of 5, this seems very wise and very sane.

I have also found that what I am worried about is not any kind of problem at all! Of course, this can be summed up in the following way: "Don't sweat the small stuff. It's almost all small stuff."

Sources: experience.

I have come to realize... in these last ten years that I am very close to going home. I thank God I will know my way home by heart. I have forgiven all I needed to forgive, including myself.

I thank God I have had a long and full life in Great Question! Betty Sources: self self .

The older I am, the more tired and the more sore I am. Some of these battles I might have taken on when I was a young buck and more cocky, are now so ennervating as to be not worth ANY possible gain. Less than "choosing my battles," I choose none at all..

1 What a great question and great answer. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have a lot of hope more so than ever before, but I have even more faith.

Faith in a lot of aspects of my life. I have been blessed over and over again and again. I also think within the last ten years I have been even more thankful.

I have had my eyes more opened in the last ten years and have actually seen things turn out okay, time and time again, that is were the trust in faith became so strong. I am happy, in the last ten years I think I have been the happiest ever. I hope for you and I and everyone else the most healthiest and happiest NEW YEAR!

2 people are continuing to become more lazy, greedy, and reactionary. I say this as an observation of the collective, of course, not as a reflection of any one individual. It seems some of the youth are becoming concerned for their future, but we currently have an entrenched power structure that is showing a lot of inertia.

This is said to be the most common lie told over the past ten years. What is it? " "Wordsmiths: Can you summarize your life in six words?" "Cost of living for the past ten years for Cecil County MD" "Now that the first decade of the twenty-first century is about to end, how have the past ten years been for you?

If you've got the perspective of being at least 40 years old.

Cost of living for the past ten years for Cecil County MD.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
