Canola Oil or Olive Oil for general use as a cooking oil?

Canola is suppose to have more omega 3, but things on the web like mercola.com talk about olive being better (I guess it has very little to no omega 3 though), but I am having trouble deciding what oil is really better to be using and why.(The canola seems to be a very nice lite oil, I used it for making popcorn and for cooking eggs this morning, we liked it very well in both applications...) I use both for different things. I use canola oil to fry food in, and olive oil to put into the food itself! Olive oil is very nice on pizza, garlic bread, on subs, in pizza & spaghetti sauces, & salad dressings, anything Italian is improved by olive oil.

Canola oil is best for frying because it allows higher temperatures than olive oil. Do NOT fry with olive oil, it will smoke and burn. They both have their health benefits, however, I just go with what tastes good and the temperature I cook at.

I have multiple olive oils. I use a really light olive oil for general cooking like you described. I also use EVOO for a heavier taste on certain dished.
