CSS horizontal bar that collapses to height of its children (Getting unwanted vertical space)?

If you set the line-height of . Hbar to less than the line-height of your child elements that should do the trick. The problem is that the div has a default line-height that is greater than that of the child elements.

It's because you're setting display to inline-block for the div's children and setting a line-height for them as well. It's doing exactly what you're telling it to do. What are you trying to accomplish?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
