Describe the fundamental process of sensing the enviroment?

Sensations of various kinds are perceived by receptors located at different parts of the body. For example, algesireceptors perceive pain, tangoreceptors are meant for touch, etc. The sensations go the central nervous system from where decision is taken as to what can be done.
