I grew Spinach, it really is the easiest thing to grow. I just planted a single row of seeds and this produced Spinach to harvest for 3 months. It tastes delicous picked fresh and was great in salads and cooked as a vegetable.
I will definitely grow some again next year, a huge success!
I grew sweet corn for the first time and I have never been so popular amongst my family and friends. Everyone wants the cobs. I bought 2 packets of seeds for a pound and had 15 plants which has given me about 10 cobs so far with about another 8 to come.
Going to be growing corn again next year.
I tried growing pumpkins this year but I did it by throwing a pumpkin from last fall in my garden and seeing if it did anything. Well by spring I had probably 20 or more pumpkin plants, not all of them survived because I didn't have enough room in my yard. As for results im still waiting for a pumpkin, if the plants weren't damaged by the hurricane I might still have a chance.
However a friend of my grandmother told me about fried pumpkin flowers and how good they are, so I might try that!
I grew Zucchini this year and found plenty of them. It was bigger than the one sold in store, very delicious indeed. I tried it last year but it didn't grow therefore I try it again this year and it turn out great.
I also have other vegetable planted in my garden, that include bell pepper, cucumber, Asian pumpkin, etc... I'm thinking about purchasing a license/permit to sale vegetable during harvest season. :o).
That's great, chanroth. If you don't end up selling your extra veggies, a great thing to do with surplus zucchini is to grate it, squeeze out the excess water, and freeze it in freezer bags. It's great to thaw and use later to make zucchini bread or to throw into a soup or stew.It thickens the broth and sneaks more veggies into your diet.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
