Difference between grunge style and punk style?

Big difference... Lyrics wise, punk tends to be more political where grunge is more poetic. Grunge is more depressed where punk is angry. Punk is usually faster paced, grunge is slower and has lower guitar and singing.

Punk tends to have a "cleaner" sound where the lyrics are clearer and easier to understand.

They are VERY different. Punk- Dead Kennedys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8zhNb8AN... Grunge- Soundgarden http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOqP3wj2x... Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is a subgenre of alternative rock that emerged during the mid-1980s in the American state of Washington, particularly in the Seattle area. Inspired by hardcore punk, heavy metal, and indie rock, grunge is generally characterized by heavily distorted electric guitars, contrasting song dynamics, and apathetic or angst-filled lyrics.

The grunge aesthetic is stripped-down compared to other forms of rock music, and many grunge musicians were noted for their unkempt appearances and rejection of theatrics.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
