Do cell phones with GPS navigation software require the internet or the use of the data network to use the GPS?

1 Good Q. I think mine appears to offer the 1st 30 days free, followed by a subscription fee.(LG Xenon thru AT&T Wireless) .

My G1 phone has a GPS chip, so it first tries to locate the satellites that are doing GPS, and then if that fails, triangulates based on nearby cell towers. That's just to get location. Then to draw the maps, it uses the phone data network (3G or EDGE).

This means that if I am in the middle of the forest, I can lock onto a satellite for GPS, but I can't get a map of where I am because there's no phone signal. Other manufacturers use other approaches. This is what HTC did for the G1.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
