Do devil and demons walk with us everyday? Who is Satan, the devil, or Lucifer?

The name Satan (derived from ancient Hebrew - it means 'adversary') as used in the Bible: along with devil, beast etc, usually refers to the king or emperor of whatever empire was oppressing the Jews at the time of writing. In Revelation, for instance, when St John refers to the 'beast from the sea' he is talking about the sequence of seven roman emperors that begins with Nero and ends with Domitian. The red dragon that appeared in heaven (Revelation again) is a reference to the constellation of Hydra - the many headed serpent that guarded the tree that bore the golden apples in the garden of the Hesperides (Greek mythology).

Which is, of course, where the writers of the Bible got the idea for the garden of Eden. The star that fell to earth: in Revelation, refers to the constellation (and one time - before it fell to earth - thirteenth house of the Zodiac) Ophiuchus - the serpent bearer. There are other instances: in the Bible, where people are 'possessed by demons' that are then cast out - which is a reference to various forms of psychotic illness.

Lastly we have the demons that beset certain prophets that go off to fast in a cave (classic shamanistic behaviour) in order to obtain visions of the future and commune with God - if you read these passages carefully what you will find, therein described, is some of the best narrative descriptions of a hallucinogenic condition known as delirium tremens (what an American would call 'cold turkey') ever written. I hope this answers your questionAll the best.

Demons are every where. If you walk in darkness, then demons will walk with you everyday. The Devil does hang around to tempt us though.

Your second question - Satan, the devil, or Lucifer are all the same person. Just different names.

Yes Demons and Satan walk among us Gen 3:5 and 3:6 as he is a trickster. The devil is Satan and Satan's name is Lucifer.

Though Evil may surround us, we can be warriors for good with every good deed we choose to perform. Those histories of good deeds are our shield against evils' influence to a certain extent. We cannot avoid evil totally in this trial called life on earth.

Our focus should be on doing good and on the good others do, not the evil that is. I think service to others will help us overcome. There is power is helping others.

More power than we can even comprehend...The point, is to do good.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. " (Matthew 24:37).

The writer Phillip Roth wrote about his funny character Trick E. Dixion that he ended up in hell running for Devil against Satan. So according to that devil would the the title of the office, like Ceasar and Satan would be the evil one's name.

Actually Satan is standard hebrew for "the accuser". It became related to the fallen angel or the one that challenged faith. Lucifer originally meant morning star, but it was related to fallen star or the fallen angel.

The fallen angel was considered a demon.

Lucifer and Satan are one in the same, he was called Lucifer before his fall also Lucifer was known as "Son of the Morning Star"Before his fall, he was like an arc angel. But inequity was found in him, his pride became sin. He sought to put himself above God (his creator) and was thrown down.

When he fell, he took 1/3 of the angels with him, they are now called demons or unclean spirits who do Satan's work. Satan means adversary and that's what he is, God's adversary. Demons walk among us, not necessarily with us.

However, we can choose to walk with them or we can choose to walk with Jesus. Live (obey) the Word of God and you'll walk with him in the light. It's like choosing light over darkness.

Which do you prefer?

I agree with the majority. We are filled partly with good and partly with evil. Evil is real; you could call the mass of our joint evil Satan. As human beings we have a capacity to choose.

We make choices all day long, every day. Each choice has a level of good to it. When we choose evil, we are doing evil and for that moment, we are evil - we are the demons and our evil mixes with the evil choices of others and makes our world crueler.

When we choose good, our choices combine with the good choices of others and make our world better. Whatever we wish other people would choose, we cannot control that. We can only control our own choices.

Happiness is found, imo, by choosing good to the best of our abilities, all through the day, every day. When enough people do that, the world/civilization will be healthy and happy.

Yes they do. Peter says that satan is like a lion prowling on earth devouring anyone he encounters.

Dear Hubber,The Lord Jesus Christ said the thief(the devil) has come to steal to kill and to destroy. Also in revelations after satan was cast to the earth, it was proclaimed that devil has come to the earth having great wrath. (Revelations 12 verse 12).

We saw this wrath when he deceived Adam and Eve.

Yes, look all around you at the "bad" and "injustice" going on in the world today. God, is love and good. He has no parts of that.

We create angels from our mouths everyday - the bible states "the tongue has the power of life and death" and God warns us to be very careful how we use it. So many people are so negative today, they damn everthing and everybody no matter what they do. They even damn themselves.

Jealously is the key and core of all evil in this lifetime. Some thinks they should have had that, not their neighbor, and that is how it all starts. The eyes see and ask the mind to justify why don't we have that?

Then the heart replies with self pity then Jealousy is born from there it builds up and flows outward over the tongue into the world where it starts to take a form of evil and destruction.

Devils walk with us everyday. An act of selfishness is an act of the devil.

Satan is the accuser, adversary, slanderer, and watchman on earth (Old Testament) Job chapters 1 and 2. Psalm 109:6; Zechariah 3:1-2He is the serpent, the most cunning of the beasts that God created: (Genesis 3:1)He is the crooked (fugitive) serpent. (Job 26:13)God created him as the waster to destroy (Isaiah 54:16)The Devil is Satan is the serpentLucifer was king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon.

Lucifer (false) will be the anti-Christ.

Yes the devil walk amongst us daily. Satan is the Prince of the power of the Air (Ephesians 2.2), meaning Satan is everywhere. The devil and Lucifer are the old names of Satan, Satan's new name is "Prince of the power of the air.

When you look up "Satan" in the Bible, it says that he is "evil". That is practically the only type of description of him: "Satan is Evil". When you look up "Evil", it says that it is "not God".

When you look up "God", you will see descriptions about "love", "good", and "kindness". Whatever is not good, it is evil, and evil is Satan. Those who follow God, or the path of good, will go to heavan.

Those who do evil, or non-good things, go to hell. Since we are sinners, it is up to us to repent our sins for forgiveness. Devils and demons are amongst us all the time; I don't believe they physically, in human form, stand or walk next to us.

There aren't any articles in the bible of demons walking around in human form, however, there was one description of the Devil talking to Jesus. It doesn't say whether or not he was in human form, just that he "came" to him. For all we know, he could've come to his mind, but most people read it as if he came in human form.In Genesis, Satan came to Eve in the form of a serpant, who told her to eat the forbidden fruit.

The Spirits of good and evil can see everything in you: your heart and your mind. Ever have thoughts cross your mind? Whether you should or should not do something?

That's them....

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
