Congrats :) That's very exciting, glad you know what you want! Are you boarding at a facility? They may have some things provided.
For instance, we have lunge lines and whips for people to use, extra halters and leads, buckets, saddle racks, bridle/halter hooks, brooms, loads of brushes and even some tack that boarders have left behind. I would ask your boarding place what they provide. If you aren't boarding, start fresh.
When you go to your next lesson, make a list of everything you use, notice your horse using, and keep notes of what you do and don't like. Basics: Horse Trainer Vet Dentist Farrier Trailer Truck In the stall: Salt/mineral lick Grain creep/bucket/tub Hay net Grain scoop (figure out how large it should be when you decide your horse's diet.) Water bucket + heater or heated water bucket Extra bucket (you can never have enough buckets) Bedding (Pine shavings) Stall sign (not a necessity, but I love having a well made sign on my horse's stall http://www.uniquelyequine.com/store-prod... doubles as a halter hook) Bridle/halter hook Saddle bar/rack.
Let me start off by saying, you have very high hopes, and a big wallet.. I cant believe, in this economy, you have 25,000 dollars to spend on a horse. Wish I did. You may spend 100xxx on a horse, but if your a crappy rider, the horse won't be a champion.
My woman bought a Registered quarter horse mare with 30 days of pro barrel training on it, for 200 dollars, shes had it for 3 years. That horse has paid for itself and its maintence costs 10x over. It doesn't matter how much you spend on the horse, what matters is the training you put on the horse, and the bond you have with it.
You claim to have leased many horses, you say your an eventer, & a very experienced rider but yet you tell us that you need to know what it takes to own a horse. Im not trying to be rude, honestly, but you don't give me much good to work with here. The way you talk, id almost bet my life on the fact that your NOT an adult and your spending your PARENTS money, not your own.
If what you said is true, about how your an experienced rider at your stable, id hate to see a beginner. Sorry. God bless.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
