Do I NEED a router in order to use a wifi range extender?

Range extenders" are just the wireless part of the router, without any routing functions. Some, but not all, routers have repeater modes, often called WDS. That will work too.

DD-WRT definitely has that mode. There are several third party routers that can do WDS or client mode (act live a PC receiving the wireless signal with ICS) that puts out the network on the ethernet ports: http://www.ovislink.ca/WL354AP/WL354AP.h... plus others... You have to just shop around and find what you need....

One extends the range of the router the other offers more functions. Don't forget that a Range Extender lets you boost the signal in certain places only. First try to build a better antenna then buy.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
