Many evangelical fundamentalist denominations teach the polygamy is sinful and that the participants will "go to hell". They ignore the fact that polygamy was widely practiced throughout history and that God did not condemn some of his most influential religious figures to hell because they happened to marry more than one woman. I'm speaking of Abraham, Jacob (Israel), and Moses -- Both David and Solomon were condemned for their many wives and concubines (a form of marriage), but not because they were plural marriages.
David had sent Bathsheba's husband into a battle where he would surely be killed so David could have Bathsheba to wife. Solomon married pagan women in a vain effort to forge a peace with surrounding nations. Santorum is preaching to his audience -- the choir.
The Bible basically encourages polygamy and condemns homosexuality. Nothing man-made about that is there?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
