Do you agree with Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s claims that he is the greatest fighter in the history of boxing?

I will go straight to your BQ: yes, I think he can fight until he is 40. Marquez is almost 40 and yet he remains a strong healthy fighter despite having the more wear and tear. I think Floyd's strategy of just fighting once a year at an advancing age is working wonderfully for him.

Marquez also fought sparingly over the past two years and it hit pay dirt with successive wins over Fedchenko and Pacquiao. Bob Arum even began to see the wisdom of that strategy as he admonished Pacquiao not to go ahead with his plan for a comeback tune up this April but instead rest his body for a possible rematch with JMM this September. Floyd has two fights sked this year against Robert Guerrero in May and possibly Canelo Alvarez by September or October.

I think he wins both fights moving him to 45-0 I think next year, he will also fight twice possibly versus the winner of the Bradley-Gamboa or Bam Bam Rios welterweight title fight and the winner of the Pacquiao- Marquez rematch. Assuming he sweeps both fights, he will be 47-0. By 2015, he can have a unification versus Austin Trout and target Sergio Martinez if the Argentine is still around in his 49th fight and winning both, he can retire at 49-0 tying Marciano's record but having the more superior resume.

P.S.--who knows how much better and established Adrien Broner would be by 2015? Broner may be a welter---a champion--- by that time setting the stage for the Old Master to meet the New Master if the Martinez fight will no longer be possible or viable.

My answer is a big NO. I hope Mayweather retires soon. That is 7 fights more.

Same goes with Pacquiao. The only reason most people follow boxing today is Mayweather and Pacquiao. If they both fight then I don't see must on in boxing.

I hope these fighters fight and retire sooner. I don't want to see them like those boxers who trade money for their Name for example look at Roy Jones Jr or Shane Mosley. I think Pacquiao is wiser on that regards.

He has a nation behind him and in general has invested into good business to live with after boxing. But feel sorry for Mayweather though. I see Mayweather as someone who Fights, Earns, Spends and comes back to fight when no cash.

I think Mayweather will end up like Roy Jones Jr fighting for money and losing his reputation. I see all signs of that happening. Mayweather and Cotto fight looked well matched.

But when Cotto fought Austin Trout I sensed he was too slow and outclassed. Compare that with how compitative Mayweather Cotto was. I see Mayweather is on decline just as Cotto at 36 age has caught up with Mayweather.

I hope Mayweather retires soon and saves money. He is a hall of the frame, there is nothing to prove when your old and worn out. Hope he doesn't end up like Roy Jones Jr.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
