Do you always tell the truth? Are there certain situations where you don't feel obligated to do so?

I try to be honest, whenever possible, just because it feels better. It's really a selfish thing, I suppose; just not wanting to lie. I do lie pretty often though because I work with kids, and their feelings often need to be spared.

If their volunteer mentor is frustrated and just wants to quit, and I can't fix it, the kid gets told their mentor got too busy with work. I don't feel any obligation to be honest at all, since it would hurt the kid's feelings, and it's really not their fault their volunteer isn't able to do the right thing. I'll lie when it doesn't really matter, in social situations, as well.

For instance, I think we've all said something like "oh wow, that's really interesting," when in fact we couldn't care less. We're just being nice to someone. No harm, no foul.

I am painfully honest in all situations whether it is to my benefit or loss. As a result I am well known for providing both infallible information, and having very few friends. Personally I'd rather be an honest bitch than a loved liar.

Honesty is the base of honor without it all other virtues crumble. I do however not offer up hurtful truth without request generally, unless not knowing causes a worse hurt.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
