Do you believe Genetically Modified food should be labeled?

Yes! I would not knowingly eat it or serve it. It is my belief that many of our ills can be traced to the additives that are already in our food supply.

Manipulating food, or 'engineering' it, can't be a good thing.

Yes, I think they should be labeled. Consumers should demand that the food they eat is labeled correctly with a clear understanding of the FDA's interpretation of what constitutes genetically or cloned food is.

Yes, I want to see genetically modified food labeled. It should be my choice whether I want to consume it or not.

Probably so. All food should be labled just as cigarettes with the warnings written on the side. All food that is, except home grown....then we know exactly what we're getting.

Yes, definitely. The problem is those agricultural lobbyists have bribed our politicians in the name of freedom of speech. What about our freedom to know?

Currently food with an additive or food coloring must be labeled in the U.S. , but genetically modified food is NOT labeled. Our government feels that it is not significantly different from its non modified counterpart. I could not agree more with all of you.

If Organic food is labeled, and that has no additives or alteration, it only makes sense that altered or modified food be labeled. This I believe is a fundamental right. We have the right to know what we are putting into our bodies. No wonder that cancer, autism, and diabetes are on the rise.

Please join Millions Against Monsanto and lobby for the labeling of GMO food. It is criminal that our government is in bed with chemical corporations and chooses lobbying $ over our health. I wrote a hub about Monsanto and another about genetically modified food, and there is a link to Millions Against Monsanto on my Hub.

If there is not a Millions Against Monsanto chapter in your town, you can start one. All the info is on their web site. They even have labels you can print out and bring to the grocery store, to label food yourself!

Yes, of course, they do the same with organic veg, why shouldn't GM be too. It's up to the indivual if they choose to buy it or not, not labelling it would be deceiving to the public..

Absolutely YES. And, meat that has been altered due to, say, hormones for chickens so they grew huge breasts, should ALSO be labeled as such. We are particularly sacrificing the health of our children by allowing this practice.

Early puberty, breasts on males, and many more maladies are directly caused by hormones condoned in our meat industries. Where is the US regulation? Squarely on the side of profitability for huge corporations, like Tyson.

Hormones in our meat products concerns me much more than genetically altered food.

It definitely should be labelled......as trash and then thrown into the bin with prescription medicine and chemo-therapy.

Yup! Consumers should be able to make informed decisions, especially about something as important as the food we are eating and feeding our children.

Absolutely, indeed...I read all labels and I try not to buy stuff with preservatives, MSG...etc....but who knows what has been altered if these big corporations aren't made to label their garbage they are creating..

Yep. I can't understand why it isn't labeled yet. Probably the Companies making pressure on the government with their money.

Oh man YES! Take corn for example, like someone else pointed out -- how many people do you think know that it is not a natural vegetable -- completely man-made. What's worse is that it is the #1 most genetically modified crop in the US.

Soy is a close second. Soy is linked to so many cancers, estrogen in men, and many other diseases (mainly because it is unfermented). When was the last time you checked your groceries for their ingredients?

I challenge you all to go shopping without finding soy in something.

Well, if your eating what appears to be a bear with a fish tail and bat wings, with a carrot stuffed up it's a**, then yes.

Yes it should be labeled, we have a right to know what we are putting into our bodies, we should force the govermment to make changes.

Every piece of corn you eat is genetically modified. It is pedantic to try and force food that was been genetically modified in a lab, quickly, to be labeled while food genetically modified through successive generational breeding isn't. Biologically speaking it is the same process and result so to cut hairs is pointless.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
