Do you drink only bottled water, if so why?

I drink bottled water in the car, I really like it but I have watched some programs lately that say it's now different that tap water and that it is a big rip off. Asked by Grandmamu4all 49 months ago Similar questions: drink bottled water Home.

No, we don't drink it in our house We don't drink it because of the impact on the environment. The thought of those bottles that are not recycled or thrown on the roadside really flies all over my husband and I. If our children need bottled water for an activity, we send a sports bottle in with filtered water in it, from the tap.

We've also seen reports showing that not all bottle waters are taken from the freshest drinking sources on the planet! Personally, before I realized how many bottles were not being recycled, after trying several brands, high and low-end, I thought quite a few tasted terrible! Almost stale.

We do drink filtered water, if not our water tastes a little too metalic. Generally speaking, we live in a country with... the safest public water supply in the world, and many of us are paying top dollar for water we don't necessarily even really know the source of. So I've taken to using a last-year's christmas gift--a big Nalgen water bottle (it holds about a quart). I fill it with chilled tapwater, and take it with me.

The mouth is wide enough that I can fill it full of ice cubes first, and it's big enough to last for most of the time I need it to--unless we're doing a 25 mile bike ride or something (then I take two). If local water supply is heavily mineraized or has an off taste, letting tapwater stand will shed the chems, and a refrigerator "Britta" stple pitcher will additionall filter the water. I refuse to pay as much or more for water than I am for gasoline by buying those little bottles, when the water from the tap is perfectly safe and clean and tastes fine.

I do filter my drinking water at home with my Brita pitcher, but that is as far as I will go. I think some bottled waters are truly some natural spring water, but most are just filtered tap water. I always liked Perrier, but that was a natural sparkling water, which is different that just plain water.

Now, bottled water is a multi-billion dollar industry charging a person for something they can have for free. What's next, bottled air! .

I drink it, but don't have to have it. I grew up on well water, I drink out of the kitchen sink daily, guess I am helping to save the environment by not dirtying a glass every time I want a drink of water.

Yes. Because tap water is contaminated with chlorine and other toxins that can't be gotten rid of through present system 4 ibstimes says: Is water, water? Definitely not.

However, I would never drink tap water. Why? Because, despite the chlorine and other chemicals used to make it safe, there is no purification system that can remove all the toxins, chemicals (chlorine can cause cancer), and the insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides that the water mustpass through yo get to your tap in the first place.

What about when you shower? You’re body still absorbs all those toxins you get from tap water. So on one hand you get the nutrients from the method I suggested and on the other, you negate all the benefits by taking a shower.
