Do you learn anything about German history in a German language course?

German history is taught in some language courses but not all. When I took a German language class in high school we learned quite a bit about German history and culture with the language. That made for a total learning experience.

I believe the history and culture of a people should be taught with the language as it helps in the understanding. Many online courses, however, do not touch on history with their language courses. Their goal is just to let people learn the language period.

They expect students to learn what they want from history and culture elsewhere on their own. That is not a bad thing either as some people do just want to learn enough so they can converse on their travels for business or personal reasons. Gh school and college courses teach more though if you want to learn more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
