Do you think a third party will come out with a viable candidate in the 2012 US presidential election?

I am not sure. The climate is right for it but it is really on the conservative side... If a 3rd party candidate reared its head in 2012 it would be more likely that the far right of the GOP would be upset by a more moderate Republican candidate who won the nomination. In other words, I can see the Tea Party types gravitating to a ultra-conservative.

It would split the Republican vote and Obama would sail in. If you lean Republican this is the worse thing that could happen for 2012. On the reverse, I guess a moderate independent could run in 2012 (like Bloomberg) and could split the Democratic vote.

I just don't seeing that though because most all of the anger is on the right.... and anger tends to make poor decisions for a party. Bloomberg tends to be practical too and running a expensive campaign to be a sacrificial lamb just doesn't sound like him. I don't know of any moderate independents or left leaning people that are seriously considering a run against Obama.

I think this is VERY unlikely but I wouldn't be surprised if Palin ran as 3rd party candidate. The GOP nomination process would really tear her up and she seriously could not win it so I would not be surprised if she blew up the GOP for her own sense of anger and wanting to feud. She is certainly capable of that anger.... also, it makes her even more marketable in the future and will make her more money in books, TV appearances and lectures.

I would not put it past her that she would blow up the GOP in 2012 if she thought she could make more money doing it. She would run knowing that she would lose banking on the fact that she would make tons of money in the aftermath (this is not unheard of, entertainers and radio personalities have done this as long as campaigns became media circuses).

You obviously, haven't been voting for long, there has always been a third party candidate on the ballot. The reason you probably never heard of them is because they never get many votes.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
