Do you think a woman must be perceived as perfect or close to sainthood in order to be President?

I've read that in business a woman competing with a man for the same job must have a work record close to perfection while her male counterpart can have mediocre performance and still be considered for the position. Does it hold true for politics as well? What do you think?

No, not at all... but I don't think many intelligent people would vote for a woman who played the victim card. There are a lot of politicians I can think of who would've been great presidents (like Jeane Kirkpatrick) or who were good politicians (like Maggie Thatcher. ) The thing they have in common is that they were strong and weren't whiners. In fact, both these women and several others I can think of were tougher than a lot of male politicians today!

A woman must appear to be able to " take charge " in order to win us over, but not perfect.

No. I think she has to be honest, informed, experienced, politically astute and able to hold her own in business situations. In other words, she must have the same characteristics as any other candidate for the presidency.

Certainly not! She doesn't have to be perceived as near perfect to be President. She should be educated as well as... "street smart" or savvy in people skills.

I heard a quote that went like this... In order for women to excel in business, she must be twice as smart as a man. Fortunately, that's not difficult.

I sure hope not I sure hope not for She's been making some low-blows at Barack during the debates--bringing up issues like him not wearing an American Flag pin--and not focusing on the legitimate issues that need to be addressed. But, in general, I think it's a theory with much truth to it. Women are still struggling for equality, and double-standards are an unfortunate reality in our world..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
