Do you think askville should let users decide not to answer a question so they can see the already posted answers?

1 Joecseko, regarding your answer "Never! ": I respect your thoughts about keeping it the same but a person could easily cheat with this set up too.It wouldn't be much harder at all. Friend A doesn't care what his rating is in "Nutty's Favorite Things" so he answers something off the top of his head but nothing so bad as to get a weak/awful (we've already seen how many are very reluctant to give these ratings if you at all try).

He then passes the correct answers to Friend B (who is all about getting a L4 in "Nutty's Favorite Things") who then knows how to answer to win. Askville may never change this but my point is that the cheating should be easy to track in either case.

A reason against it is that they may be able to have a friend decide to not answer (or use a different login ID) and then use the content in others' answers to generate their answer. I hate having to watch and then wait for 5 answers sometimes. The questions I want to watch never get 5 people and it usually takes a the 7 day period to see the answers.

People will cheat. Other users can have the answered copied and pasted to a private message to another user, then use the already submitted answers as fuel for their own. Askville is never going to change this, ever. It's one of the things that keeps Askvile from turning into a breeding ground for cheaters, like Yahoo!

You will never be able to edit answers. You will never be able to edit questions. You will never be able to see answers without submitting an answer.

Askville Team assured me of all of these things via e mail very early on in Askville. I had submitted feedback asking them to never change these things. Their response was, they wouldn't.

Noone who answered the question would give you copies of the answers submitted, because then you could beat them.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
