It is possible to become an elite athlete, at least in short track speed skating, without spending time in the library researching the sport; my friend is on the Canadian selection backup for the 2010 and training to compete in 2014 but hates reading. If you mean training with tools like video analysis, then yes: I can attest as an athlete that they help.Do things like periodic VO2max tests and reproducing and modifying previously used race strategies help? Of course.
But I've had those training tools and so did my friend. She has had (overall) better coaches and more dedication. She is training for the 2010 and 2014 and competes nationally; I'm in school.
I would say that such tools help, but do not make the athlete. A good and dedicated coach can be better than a video analysis with little or no good commentary. A good coach will develop his own strategies and make the athlete train with them and a good coach will (at least) help with the choices of equipment/gear.
To become an elite athlete you require two things in equal dedication: yours and your coach's.It helps when you have added tools, but having said tools while lacking either person's dedication will leave you on the amateur circuit at best.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
