Do you think that people who cause the problems on Askville should get booted? I am OK with that, are you?

I don't participate here much anymore because of the bad behavior and insults on several of the DB's. If you think I'm exaggerating look up the "Toe Cleavage" question and read through the DB. The behavior in it is shameful, insulting, and childish.

So, what can be done? And please, if you are going to answer with "Askville needs to address it" then don't bother, that is a weak answer. If people can't control their own emotions they should not be here.

I could live with a 3 strikes and you're out policy; but.....it would be almost impossible to implement and fairly administer. If and when you become more than just an occasional askviller, you will discover that there are well-developed cliques in askville. It would be very easy for such a policy to erupt into clique warfare...a la the Jets and the Sharks...pretty soon 33% of the Ville would be booted off... So, I find the tools askville provides--the ability to report abuse and the free right to disengage from a Q or a DB--are probably sufficient.

Ultimately, Amazon/Askville business objectives would be the criteria used to decide whether or not to add something like this. But, I fear I am clueless as to what Amazon is seeking to do with Askville. I am certain they want to maximize the number of users in the Ville; so, coming up with a way to boot off a large segment of the population is probably not going to make business sense.In the meantime, we should actively use those 2 tools provided us.

If exposing the childish behavior makes people think twice before reacting emotionally then this will have been worthwhile.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
