There should be a clause in the contracts of players that if they get into any legal or drug trouble that they should lose their salary for that year. Yes... I think there should be very strictly enforced rules. But, I would abolish fines. I would grant the entire professional sports industry a final chance with a 90-day advance warning.

Then I would fire every player that didn't meet the regular drug screens. It might take the profession a couple years to come back to its present level of performance; but, they'd be doing it straight without enhancements. Breaking the law is something that should be written into the contracts stating that if this happens all contracts are null and void they would lose the money and their job. These are professionals that our children look up to and when they break the law they are in essence telling our children it’s ok.
