Do you think working Askvillers slack on their jobs to get so many "coins"? How can you work and be on Askville?

Let me explain... I am a home care nurse and work a 13 hr shift, 3 times a week, for a special needs child who is on a ventilator. Right now, she is happily watching ’A Bug’s Life’ less than 3 feet away from me. Because there is alot of ’down time’ in a job like this, I can use my laptop while I’m here.

When I arrive at 5:15AM, she is sound asleep and sleeps until 8AM. When she is asleep, there is less to do... but so far today, I have done ventilator maintenance and checks, given her 2 feedings, a respiratory treatment, prepared meds for the next 24 hrs and administered them 3 times, changed a few diapers, given her a bath and shampoo, dressed her and groomed her hair, given trach and G tube stoma care, placed her in and out of her wheel chair or bed 4 times, suctioned her about 10 times... and several other things that you probably don’t want to hear details of. I have also answered 5 questions on Askville and commented in a few discussions.

However, I would not ever slack on this job or neglect her in order to do so. Because all her care is spread out over the 13 hrs that I am here, when I am not giving her direct care, I can easily find time to answer a few questions on Askville and accumulate my massive amounts of quest gold. It’s actually a blessing since I am getting paid double while I’m at work... although I haven’t figured out a way to use the Quest coins to pay for groceries or gas for my car yet!

Actually, it’s a nice diversion for me, as 13 hours makes for a long day. I use Askville at work But I don't slack on my job. I have 2 computers sitting next to each other. One has Askville open always.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
