Does any one go on picnics anymore?

When we were kids, my mother use to take us to the park. She'd pack a picnic lunch with lots of goodies. Does any one go on romantic picnics for two, or take the kids on picnics, or just go by yourself?

Absolutely! Just packing the trivia things to eat and drink brings fond memories! Picnicking down at the lake.

Seeing the clouds whisk by and the reflections as the lake calms during the evening hours, and as light wisps of smoke from the fire tickle the nose and sometimes a couch if I get to close: Grandchildren climbing the rocks and exploring the nooks and cranny’s while Grandma sets out the food is glorious to my heart, and mind. Seeing the birds in flight and diving upon each other as the winds give lift and rise as I chomp down on some home made chrispy fried chicken legs is fantastic. Sometimes, when the fire crackles and the ashes slightly raise to the sky while gleaming in the waters edge: A hotdog roasting on a stick is so inviting. I like to picnic with the grandchildren, kids and friends. Yes we do.... My boys love the park. We go as often as we can. And yes we pack a picnic lunch.

We pack all our favorites. Some times we go to this certain park that is right on the ocean, the kids love it. And as a real treat we go around four PM and call daddy at work and he will meet us with dinner, usually subs for us and pizza for the kids.

We just had one over the weekend! My husband and I take our kids to a park that's out of the way, and a lot of times we are the only people there. Sometimes we take our dog too.

Sometimes we cheat and just pick up fried chicken on our way, but usually we make basics at home. We usually have sandwiches of various kinds - peanut butter and jelly, ham, turkey. I always have baby carrots in the fridge, so those are good picnic food, as are grapes.

If it's not too hot, I might take chicken salad and crackers. It's always fun to have good chocolate chip cookies or brownies for dessert. Whatever we take, I always take things that are easy to eat and don't require silverware.

We do! Not for a little while, now, but we did, until I took up residence... in the hospital! Last summer, before I got really miserable with the chemo treatments, we averaged at least one picnic a week.

I love to pack sandwiches, fruits, water bottles, fresh lemonade...yes, even some sweet treats, brownies and having family picnics, in the park. Even better, we're right down the road from a park that does a family movie series and a symphony series in the park. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
