Pre-Unity, then Unity! I suppose you should start by the Pre-Unity Valiant comics : The list is here : valiantcomics.com/valiant/issuelist.asp Then you should continue with Unity : Unity is the name of the storyline (crossover) that was told in all titles of Valiant comics in 1992. Unity officially began with Chapter 1, Unity issue #0.

Unity #0 was given away in stores, with a cover date of August 1992. Therefore, any Valiant comic with a cover date before August 1992 is considered "Pre-Unity". Unity continued its chapters through each title and ended in Chapter 18, Unity issue #1.

The ordered list (from http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/Whatisunity.asp) : Chapter 1: Unity #0 Chapter 2: Eternal Warrior #1 Chapter 3: Archer & Armstrong #1 Chapter 4: Magnus #15 Chapter 5: X-O Manowar #7 Chapter 6: Shadowman #4 Chapter 7: Rai #6 Chapter 8: Harbinger #8 Chapter 9: Solar #12 Chapter 10: Eternal Warrior #2 Chapter 11: Archer & Armstrong #2 Chapter 12: Magnus #16 Chapter 13: X-O Manowar #8 Chapter 14: Shadowman #5 Chapter 15: Rai #7 Chapter 16: Harbinger #9 Chapter 17: Solar #13 Chapter 18: Unity #1 The Unity timeline is here : http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/unitytimeline.asp Then you can consult the Timeline of the Valiant Universe on Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Valiant_Universe or on ValiantComics here : http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/vvtimeline.asp The term "Pre-Unity" applies to Valiant comic books released before Valiant’s 18-Chapter Unity crossover event of Summer 1992. The pre-Unity Valiant books were printed before the increased print runs of 1993-94, before the "change in leadership" among the founding Valiant members, before the major influence of monthly comic price guide magazines, before "Death of Superman" events that drew attention to all comic books, and before regular printing of "dealer incentive" or special cover deluxe editions. These 54 books are considered the "best of the best" that Valiant produced, for the reasons listed above, but mainly for cohesive stories with tight continuity in the Valiant universe, and defining artwork for the company.

They represent about 3.5% of the total population of Valiant comics printed from 1991 to 1996. Sources: http://www.valiantcomics.com .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
