Does my 2000 Chevy cavalier have a timing belt or timing chain?

Neither its a gear set. Well depending if you have the 2.2 Ecotec or the 2.4 QUAD DOCH. Those engines have timing chains.

The 2.0 has 2 gears. One on the crank and one on the cam. The others both have timing chains because they are DOCH 16 Valvers.

Timing chain is for your camshaft connected to a sprocket on one piece and a pulley on the other, which the BELT drives. A camshaft opens and closes both intake/exhaust valves to keep the fuel and air combustion at the same ratio. The chain is used by the help of the belt or timing belt to cause this to happen.

It works counterclockwise in motion like any other engine. That used car dealer does not know anything about what he said to u.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
