Does our public medical care system treat illegal immigrants better than American citizens?

They generally have an advantage over you because they will work for cheaper. These employers by law shouldn't be able to hire someone without a social insurance number <-- I live in canada and everyone generally has one who is a citizen through immigration or birth. I assume you do this in the US.

Hence these employers will pay them cash under the table or personal cheque if these illegal residents have accounts under legal family or friends name to hold their earnings. However what you have stated you can't be sure if this is hugely rampant, cause employers can get in deep trouble. For the most part illegal labour is not classified as crime when its free lance work most of the time.

(Building fences, cutting grace) Its the formal work that is serious. EDIT: I can see all this happens at your expense and the young adults looking for part time work in need of cash. Or in cases of trades work for apprenticeships.

The employer would rather pay a guy $6'hr over paying you $12/hr.

Yup, cheaper labor, hence many corporations do this legally, it called "outsourcing", they actually ship the work over to a Country that's neither labor nor OSHA or Environmentally friendly and pay those workers practically nothing while maintaining all the profits for themselves, it's the American way, on the flip side we ( Americans ) want cheaper materials, hence Walmart was born, so we want cheaper "stuff" and high paychecks......

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
