Does Stellarium (Astronomy software) show ANYTHING besides what's currently in the sky at Paris, France with?

This software seems pretty worthless to me. ("configuration" changes nothing shown). Who cares what they might see in Paris at the current time?

Press F6, click on a location or choose a city name, then click on the "USE AS DEFAULT" checkbox.

Hmm I should have tried it before answering-- the F6 window is mighty unresponsive-- clicking on the map seems to do nothing. You can select a city from the list, but I can't get the "add to list" buttons to work. And the "X" to close the window doesn't do anything on my Mac.

The esc key does close that popup window, and the software does show in the caption that it is now at my location.

At least they could show the Paris skyline and say that nothing was visible in the sky because of the Paris city lights (light pollution)! Maybe a night view of the Eiffel Tower and surroundings would make up for the lack of usability for the night sky observations. Yellowdog 5 months ago .

Yeah, the software is infuriating-- fancy in some ways, primitive in others, but you see the version number is like 0.12, so you shouldn't expect perfection.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
