Does the quote, "Everything happens for a reason" imply determinism?

You are not understanding the quote. The reason women are raped is because men feel a sexual urge to do so. That in itself is a reason for why something happens.

Children die of disease because the child is not living a healthy life, that too is a reason. You can make your own choices, but your choices always have reasons to them, and your reasons for your choices will always affect something in one way or another whether you like them to or not.

Oh my God! I read the title of your questions and the first thing that came into my mind was.. Umm.. yes true everything does seem to happen for a reason but I don't know what reason could be there that can aptly justify the death of children and As I read your question description I am like BINGO! See, things happen for a reason .

It does fit suitably in many cases . For example, if You bring harm to anyone, you will face harm too. Sooner or Later.

Karma theory! So bad things happen to you for a reason - Your own bad deeds. But yes when it comes to infants dying , innocent people suffering.

,. This theory / statement fails badly! And yes!

Then it seems to be a stupid excuse! I totally agree with you!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
