Does today's country sound like pop music to anyone else?

It's what used to be called crossover. Now it's just gone over...

I like a lot of it but Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift get on my nerves. Sukay 12 months ago .

Yes, there seems to be a steady writing of songs and even perfomances are geared towards pop music, which is the main stream biggest part of music , so if you get a hit , you are going to make millions of dollars more in the pop stream and money with the song playing country.

Not even good pop music at that. That's why I quit listening to Country stations on the radio - everything sounds the same, plus I've never heard of these people! Whatever happened to George Jones, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and others?

They're still alive and recording, but you never hear them on the radio any more. All you hear is that schlock that passes for Country and if you listen for more than 10 minutes, its all so slow, it'll put you to sleep! .

Once again, the doctor has provided erroneous information. Country is no longer the Number 1 radio format in this Country.

Try listening to WSM 650-AM, especially at night. They play a lot of what might be called "classic country", and have a much more varied format than most radio stations do these days. And I believe you can listen online as well, though I am not positive about that.

Yup. Been like this for a while. Country music is the most popular genre of radio stations these days, so you've got kind of a new Top 40 among country music stations.

That's why country has gone pop.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
