Does Yahoo Answers condone illegal Internet censorship on its website?

When you are in public, it is still very much a violation of MY rights if you walk up to me and say anything obscene like profanity. You have freedom of speech (Actually, freedom of the press but we won't get into that) but that does not mean you can say whatever you want to whomever you want wherever you want. You are only free to the extent that you do not infringe upon someone else's freedom.

That means if I am offended by your use of profanity, then you are violating my rights. If you are in your own home, then you can say whatever you want, profanity and obscene language included, as long as you don't threaten me of course, because I have a choice to be there or not. But in public, because I have a right to be where I am, your rights are limited in that you cannot infringe upon mine.

The Constitution is a document put in place by our founding fathers to protect you from an oppressive government, not a license to abuse other people.

The "freedom of speech" guaranteed by the first amendment to the constitution of the United States protects the people from being censored by the government. To answer (b) and (c), Yahoo and NPR are private companies and can censor us however they please on their websites and radio stations. There is no law obliging them to say whatever we want on their media.

As for (a), it's been tried in the courts repeatedly. Usually, they censors win because the "public good" of censoring the "obscenity" in the book in question overrides the "public good" of the first amendment. Here is some more information to answer (a): http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/spee...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
