Cassandra builds it's thrift bindings using thrift 0.7 which is almost certainly your problem. If you want to build your own thrift bindings you should use that version of thrift.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
