For my Computer when I go to turn of the monitor is say Power Button Lock-out how do I fix it?

The 5 beeps is a POST code. See here: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000... I believe the most likely problem is either a bad power supply or something has happened to your RAM, Motherboard or CPU. I don't know what your skill level is with computers but if it were me I'd open the case and take out the RAM and then put it back in.

See if that works. If you have more than 1 stick of RAM the procedure would be to take out the forst one and try and boot, if it works, you just found a bad stick of RAM. If it still doesn't work, put that stick back and pull out the next one... and so on.

If you work your way through the RAM and still have the problem then your CPU might be bad. Since you say the computer powers on I've left the Power Supply until last but it's also the easiest and cheapest problem. There are a number of videos and manuals online that show you how to swap out a power supply.

It only takes a couple minutes. Just because the fans are starting up and the computer is beeping doesn't mean that the power supply doesn't have a problem. The Power Supply Unit (PSU) has to produce a number of different voltages for the computer to work.

If one of those isn't working right (ie. Is the incorrect voltage) you could experience this problem. But first things first.

Pull the power cable out of the computer and leave it for 10 min. Plug it back in and try again. Some suggest just resetting or flipping the switch in the back.

This doesn't allow time for the capacitors in the PSU to fully dissipate their charge which could be causing strange voltages.

Surge protectors are good but don't cover all aspects, you need a UPS ( Un-interrupted Power Supply) or No Break Supply, which you can buy for your network, to switch off safely. Basically a battery supply. Low volts is just as bad as High volts, can do same amount of damage, which your surge protection or Residual Current Device may not have tripped?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
