G. Carlin said we reach for slices of bread lower in the bag leaving the worst ones for family. Do we cheat those we love other ways?

Ha ha ha A question about George Carlin was bound to make me laugh :D He was an amazing man, and his social commentary is something to be studied. I do agree with nearly everything he has said, written or laughed about....he's one person I would have loved to have dinner with. I'd probably choke as I laughed but it would have been a great evening!

But to answer the question, I start by saying that I do not reach for the slices of bread lower in the loaf. I will give them to my family, they are soft and fresh and delicious and I give my family the best I can......I toast the top ones. Don't you?

No, we don't cheat our family but as a social joke it is funny because we do disregard other humans, and they are our species, why do that? We are social creatures, we have a survival mechanism, it hits us sometimes when we least expect it. We turn away from someone suffering because we think "that could be me, I can't watch" we think "I need what I have, I cannot share" and yet we give to strangers through charity every single day.

We help stray animals and feed birds in winter. We can't help the duality, its what makes us human. There are times in life when only one can benefit.

I chose to benefit others, some don't. If I lived in prehistoric times I would probably die at the hands of a bully :) or be protected by the village chief for my service to the tribe :) depends on which one got to me first. "Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity" George Carlin

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
