Has the economic slowdown affected demand for chemical intermediates in India?

Commodity chemicals being largely used by industries for their manufacturing processes, demand for chemical intermediates is impacted by reduction in manufacturing activity in the economy. The current slowdown is also accompanied by lowering of international demand and, therefore, has adversely impacted exports.
