Have new 256MB memory card for Olympus Camedia Digital C-750 Ultra Zoom that will not upload to my computer?

Have new 256MB memory card for Olympus Camedia Digital C-750 Ultra Zoom that will not upload to my computer. Camera gives error message during plalyback mode: "Erase All---Yes/no" then power goes off. Using a 16MB card does upload and no problems.

This is the second C-750 I have owned (the first one was stolen! ). I like the camera very much and want a larger memory card.My local camera store cannot help me.

Does the card work normally during recording? If yes did you tried plugging the camera into a different computer? Also update your USB drivers and if needed, install camera drivers.

Try This... I have 3 Olympus digital cameras and I think they are the best, but I have never encountered this problem. I know that new types of memory cards have come out recently which are Type M and Type H and I was thinking that maybe your camera was not compatible with the new types, I have one that isn't. I went to the Olympus website and checked, your camera is compatible up to 512 MB.

Since I don't know what brand your memory card is, maybe you have to format the card first. You can find that function in the card setup menu. It is similiar to formatting a floppy disk like we had to to in the past.
