How can I, in Singapore, register & sell stuff on Amazon. Amazon's US, UK, Canadian sites ask for local bank acct, addr I am in Singapore and like register as a Seller to sell on Amazon US. However, when I try registering, Amazon's site asks for a US address, US bank account.

Apparently, international sellers are not allowed to register and sell on Amazon US. The Amazon US site, however, mentioned that Sellers on Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, Amazon France, Amazon Germany & Amazon Japan can sell into the US. But when I try registering on Amazon UK, Canada, France, Germany or Japan , each of these sites also insist on a local bank account and a local address. So in effect, we are shut out of the US market.

What's the matter with Amazon US? Are we Asians (except for Japan) so untrustworthy and unreliable that you have imposed this discrimination against us? Asked by hotjava 33 months ago Similar questions: Singapore register sell stuff Amazon Amazon's UK Canadian sites local bank acct addr Amazon.

Technical Limitations" Amazon. Com currently supports only US sellers on their main site. It has nothing to do with discrimination.

If you live in Canada, you can sell in the Canada portion of their site. If you live in Germany, you can sell on the Germany dedicated site. The same goes for the rest of the above mentioned countries.

They state this policy is in effect due to technical limitations. This may be true. Amazon uses their own credit card processor that may not be able to process international transactions due to the currency exchange. In addition, having a site dedicated to US sellers is a feature that other sites don't support (for example, eBay supports international sellers).

Because of this feature, I choose to shop at Amazon. Com and not eBay. There is comfort in knowing that my seller is US based, that my shipment will arrive within 2-5 business days (and not the 9-17 business day quote from international sellers), and that tracking services are supported.

International sellers can't provide quick transit times, or - in most cases - tracking numbers (due to the cost-effective nature of the shipment services). Plus, it's hard to return an item if it's defective or the customer cancels the purchase. The postage to return is costly and the customer would not be satisfied with the transaction if this were the case.

In addition, I imagine some customers feel more secure with their shipment and transaction if the seller was US based. This is purely speculation on my part but this is how I feel. I do a lot of business with Hong Kong BUT, in my personal life, despite how cheap I can get items from Hong Kong, I would still rather purcahse from a US seller.

It's a matter of personal preference, really. As for the site, well, they are free to do as they'd like. You, of course, are free to sell on other sites.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
