Total guess here (really, I just feel like answering -- sorry -- bad form I know): Assuming your observation is correct, I'd think that blogs tend to be viewed as general opinion pieces which claim some mantle of (admittedly minor) authority, not as personal as social media -- almost newspaper status. As such, there may be an increased fear of antagonizing authority averse nut jobs who think differently than the author. People have hair-trigger reactions to any opinion these days (which is a sad commentary in itself).
Because blogs tend to reach more people around the world and Facebook is more private; depending on how private you make it I guess.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
