How come God knew the cure for polio, but allowed millions of people to suffer and die from it before allowing humans to find the cure?

No idea where you get that idea. Atheists believe in all kinds of things. We just don't believe God exists.

We believe in the beauty of a spring morning, in the joy of a child's laughter, in the importance of helping others, in the value of making a difference in the world. Sad that theists only believe in an imaginary being - they miss out on so much of the real world.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
