How did John Kennedy's father influence John?

JFK's father, Joe influenced him by showing him what politics was and groomed him to become President from his teenage and college years. Jack originally was thinking of becoming a History teacher. But when he fought in World War 2 he decided to go into politics from the House of Representatives to Senator and all the way to 1500 Pennsylvania Ave.
