How do I grow my hair but keep split ends away?

Condition your hair regularly, especially the ends. When your hair gets longer, it is harder for the natural oils from your scalp to the ends of your hair. Use a wide tooth comb to detangle your hair when it is wet.Do not use a hair dryer, unless absolutely necessary.

You are better off letting your hair air dry. As it gets longer, when it is dry and you have combed out the tangles run a brush through your hair - this will help transfer the oils from your scalp to the ends of your hair. Unless you are swimming or otherwise getting stuff into your hair, you should only wash your hair, at most, every other day.

You also need to cut your hair regularly. I know that this sounds wrong, but in order to keep your hair healthy, you should get a small trim every 3-6 months. But very clear with the stylist that you are growing your hair out and that you just want the split ends trimmed, tell them to show you/tell you how much they are cutting.

I have a lot of experience with long hair maintenance, this is the first year since I can remember that my hair has been consistently short (chin to shoulder length).

If you see a split end, get rid of it! Always remember, split ends are the enemy. A little trim of an inch or less once or twice a month can help fight split ends.

Make sure your scissors are specifically for cutting hair and very sharp! Dull scissors can make split ends worse. Buy a good 100% boar bristle brush.

A boar bristle brush is a must have tool for people with long hair! It is excellent for spreading your natural hair oils to the ends of your tresses. It feels great on the scalp and does wonders for dry ends.

However, you should not replace your regular comb or brush with the boar bristle but use it as an oil distributor at least twice a week. Avoid dangerous accessories! Don't use any hair accessory that has rigid edges, plastics with sharp seams, or metals that can snag or rip your hair.

Some metal hair clips are okay if they don't have rigid edges that can get stuck in your hair. Also, avoid any pony tail holders that have metal bands. Buy the soft scrunchies or all fabric hair ties.

It is very difficult to remove a tangled hair band from super long hair. Avoid using plain rubber bands with no fabric covering at all cost as well! They will definitely cause damage to your hair or worse, get stuck and most likey have to be cut out.

Don't wash your hair every day! Even if you have oily hair, wash every other day or every two days if you can. Shampooing too often strips away the oils from your hair and can cause dryness or overproduction of oils in the scalp giving a greasy appearance.

Never pile long hair on the top of your head to shampoo! Also, it is not neccessary to shampoo the entire length of your hair, just lather at the roots and the shampoo will rinse through the length of your hair. Use natural oils to condition, repair damage, prevent split ends, and add shine.

Oils such as coconut, olive, jojoba, and others are a huge part of the hair care routines for many women who have beautiful long lengths. My personal favorite is cocconut oil. It is best to use the night before you are going to wash your hair and leave on overnight.

Start with a small amount and concentrate on your ends. Your hair will love it! Avoid heat as much as possible.

Heat is very destructive to hair. Try to let your hair air dry after washing whenever it is possible or let it partially dry before blow drying. Use a heat protection spray before blow drying or styling.

Try alternative non-heat methods of curling.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
