How do I look into different college majors?

You don't have to do community college if you don't want to, but it is a good option if you want to save some money. For the most part, you DO study things for your major at community colleges. General education classes are different for every major and vary between schools.

Like at some art schools, you may only have to take one math course for general ed classes, but if you go to a community college majoring in computer science, you will have to take more. It just depends on the college's requirements. Dual Enrollment (at my school it's called dual credit, or DC) is similar to AP taking classes, except you take the class at a local community college instead of your school.

You will most likely skip at least few periods of your normal school day to go to the college to take the class. The biggest difference between DC and AP is that DC gives you college credit automatically, but to get college credit from AP, you have to get a good score on the AP exam. DC, however, may not transfer if you end up going to school far away from where you live, while AP goes across the country, and even the world in some instances.

It just depends on the school. As far as AP tests go, your score just tells a college how prepared you are for college. Some schools give more credit than others; for example, the University of Texas gives you a credit for one geography class if you score a 3-5 on the APHG exam.

But Harvard might not give any credit at all even for a 5, but you will look more prepared than someone who got a 4 (increasing your chances of admission). If you ever have any questions about what class credit you will get at a university, email the university and ask. Also, you can combine the science/math and architecture thing.

There is a major called "architectural engineering," I would look into it. Here is a basic description: http://www.princetonreview.com/Majors.as... Then there are 2 major branches which are implemented at most schools, structural and mechanical. Depends on what school you decide to go to.

Here's some good descriptions: http://www.uwyo.edu/civil/research/struc... (under "architectural") http://www.uwyo.edu/civil/research/mecha... Good luck on your search! I'm kinda the same way with planning, I started looking at colleges when I was a sophomore as well. You can message me if you have any more questions.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
