It's not as hard as you think... First off bring the car seat.. you don't know what kind of car seat will be waiting for you. It might not work, your baby might not fit.. all sorts of problems could arise. I have traveled a number of times with my 8 month and I've gate checked the stroller and car seat at every URL1 makes it a little easier for me knowing that it's not lost or damaged and it helps to make sure that even if luggage gets lost.. I have the most important things with me.

As for what to bring.. I plan for a normal day and add a few extras.. Enough diapers, wipes and formula, maybe a little extra juice or water.. My little one is teething so I make sure to bring tylenol and a pacifier (for ear popping) maybe a teething cookie just in case.. and only like a toy or two.. if I bring too many she throws them into the aisle or at people (she has really good aim) and last I bring an extra blanket. The ones on the airplanes aren't that thick and it can sometimes get really chilly. Other than that you should be good.

Since you'd be traveling with a little one you can get away with having more than the quart sized bag with 3oz only. I over packed on my very first outing with her.. It was a 9 hour flight with a 3 hour layover.. At the end I realized what it was I really needed.. Each baby is different so even if you do go overboard.. the next time you fly you'll know just what you really need.. I've seen some babys with nothing but mom's purse.. And I've seen some with backpacks stuffed full. You won't really know for sure what you need until you actually do it.. But I suggest only packing what you'd need.. not what the "i think I'll needs" Good Luck .

I would! I know it's an extra expense to buy the seat, but I would. For many reasons!

The safety issue, first and foremost is why I would take the seat. If you are in severe turbulence you really could lose hold of the baby. Also for your convenience, do you really want to hold the baby for that long of a flight?

Neither of you will be comfortable that long. The baby is going to want to stretch and get comfortable as well. The extra seat also affords you more room without a passenger right on top of you.(hopefully) I traveled often with my daughter, not as much with my son, but I tried it both ways with both children. It always went better with the seat, it was almost too much when I held them the entire time.

Also, it gets hot! Planes aren't always the most comfortable of places. Just remember, there will be people on the plane that think you are evil for bringing a baby.

You paid for the ticket, you and baby are just as welcome as they are! I always tried to give my babies a bottle or sippy cup on take off and landing to soothe their ears. When they seemed to get fussy, I tried to walk them a bit and that seemed to help.

Most of all, keep your cool, they will react to your stress! On one flight, I had a wonderful flight attendant who helped me when I needed to go to the restroom (a nightmare!) he was so good with my daughter, he missed his daughter and said he needed baby time! Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Take the car seat and an "activity" bag I would definitely take a car seat with you and a bag with toys, activities and other items to entertain your baby. Bring enough variety to last you the 8 hours. I would not hesitate to hold your baby if (s)he doesn't want to sit in your car seat all of the time.

Different airlines have different rules about requiring a seat or not and about whether the baby needs to be buckled or can be held. If baby is screaming buckled in the car seat, nestling her/him against your body could be all it takes to reassure her/him. Take a familiar blanket and a favorite small soft stuffed animal.

Any experienced flyer knows the pain in descending with stuffed nasal passages. This can promote crying which in turn will only prolong the pain. My child is no longer an infant so I don't know what the medication options are anymore especially in light of the problems with one decongestant.

Explore the seating chart and get advise from the reservations agent to see if you can get seats that will work for you and you baby. Have a nice trip.

Just make sure not to put baby through XRay machine All the other details should take care of themselves.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
